A new Theatre for Young Audiences version featuring a thrilling original rock score, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is an action-packed mythical adventure “worthy of the gods” (Time Out New York) that stormed Broadway in 2019. When teenager Percy Jackson discovers he’s a demigod, he and his friends embark on an epic journey to find Zeus’ missing lightning bolt and prevent a war among the gods. As the half-blood son of Poseidon, the Greek God of the Sea, Percy has newly-discovered powers he can’t control, a destiny he doesn’t want, and a mythology textbook’s worth of monsters on his trail.
"Xanadu" follows Muse Kira (leader of the muses) on her quest to inspire a young 1980’s aspiring artist (Sonny Malone) in creating his wildest dreams - A ROLLER DISCO! When she falls in love with mortal Sonny Malone, her jealous sisters (Melpomene and Calliope) take advantage of the forbidden love so that Kira will not be granted the biggest gift, from the almighty Zeus, XANADU! Based on the Universal Pictures cult classic movie of the same title, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, this rock/pop/disco musical skates us through the 80’s and beyond.
“Everybody” is a contemporary take on the 15th-century play “Everyman” that explores the universal experience of mortality. The story follows Everybody as they journey through the greatest mystery – the meaning of life. Representing how death comes for everyone, each performance the actors will walk on stage oblivious of their role until it is decided by a lottery during the show. Filled with humor, wit and profound insights, the modern play delves into existential questions about life, death, and the choices we make along the way.
Black Broadway is an original musical theatre revue celebrating the legacies of Black and African American artists on the theatrical stage. A live band accompanies an ensemble of performers singing from hit musicals like “The Wiz,” “The Color Purple,” “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” and “Dreamgirls.” Interwoven with dance and spoken word, Black Broadway recognizes the rich history and revolutionary contributions of Black Musical Theatre.

The Southern premiere of Frances Pollock and Tia Price’s new opera, “Stinney: An American Execution" elates the story of George Stinney, Jr., a 14-year-old African-American boy wrongly convicted and executed in 1944 for the rape and murder of two white girls in Alcolu, SC. The opera expands the story to include that of Stinney's family, community, and the ten men who sent him to the electric chair.
With a kaleidoscope of song, dance and poetry, Rock Opera confronts our recent collective experience having undergone a national pandemic, a re-emergence of racial reckoning and cultural chaos. Personal perspectives from the cast mix with legendary and revitalizing music from productions and artists like Queen, Marvin Gaye, Foreigner, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rent, Carmen and Tosca.
