Dance Nation
 by Clare Barron

Presented by The Unicorn Theatre
Directed by Heidi Van

Role: Ashlee

Somewhere in America, an army of pre-teen competitive dancers plots to take over the world. And if their new routine is good enough, they’ll claw their way to the top at Nationals in Tampa Bay. A play about ambition, growing up, and how to find our souls in the heat of it all. This hilarious and empowering play is filled with pre-teen anxiety and major “Dance Moms” energy.

Reviews:

"Although Ashlee is a smaller role, Cook makes an outsized impression with a raw, powerful monologue that perfectly captures the twinned insecurity and megalomania of a teenager who has just become aware of her power but not yet internalized the world’s attempts to restrain it." - KC Studio
